Kalahari Sands Hotel
Superior
In the heart of Windhoek's central business district, the
Kalahari Sands Hotel and Casino is Namibia's gateway to the living
desert. The Kalahari conjures up images of golden dunes, mystical
nights and Bushmen artifacts. The Kalahari Sands Hotel and Casino is
a tribute to these metaphors and is a stepping stone to Namibia and
the gateway to Etosha National Park and the Namib Desert.
The Kalahari Sands
Hotel and Casino has a total of 173 rooms which are decorated to
blend into their earthy surroundings. The color scheme is taken from
the golden hues of the dunes and combined with the reddish tones of
the bushman paintings. All rooms are fitted with air conditioning,
two double beds, bath and shower, telephone, radio, color television
with video channel and sun screening for added comfort, tea and
coffee making facilities and mini bar. The Dunes restaurant offers a
choice of a splendid buffet or a-la-carte and the Oasis Lounge Bar
is perfect for relaxation. The gym and sauna, as well as the
rooftop swimming pool are available for exercise. |

Damaraland Camp
Superior
Damaraland Camp
integrates the local villagers, the environment, and sustainable
wildlife and offers endless vistas across stark plains, ancient
valleys, and soaring peaks. Accommodation is in eight large
comfortable walk-in tents face the valley view and each has en suite
facilities and a roomy verandah. The main living area combines
dining and pub under canvas and an open fire is enjoyed during calm
evenings. A feature of the camp is the rock pool. Early morning
mists, generated by the icy Atlantic and the warm land mass along
the skeleton coast drift inland along the river line, providing
sustenance to varied life forms. Wildlife is not concentrated here
and the natural laws of food and water availability dictate the
movement and cycles of the rare and endangered desert elephant,
black rhinoceros Springbok and other mammals. Activities at
Damaraland center around nature drives and walks into the Haub River
system. Star gazing is excellent with the crystal clear skies and
there are no fences in the area which gives one a complete feeling
of freedom. All meals and activities are included. |
